Chapter 33 Did Israel Represented by the Fig Tree Restore the Nation?

The Church of God claims that the Second Coming Yehoshua will appear when Israel, represented by figs, becomes independent. So, was Israel independent? Israel is a nation built around a temple. The name Israel is another name for Jacob. Jacob clinged to God all night to receive the blessing, and God changed Jacob's name to Israel. The name Israel means that Jacob fought God and won. However, this does not mean that Jacob actually fought, but rather that he clings to God for a blessing. Therefore, Israel and Jacob and the overcomer all mean the same thing.

The two overcomers that the Bible testifies are Jacob and Joshua. Just as physical Israel was established through Jacob's 12 sons, spiritual Israel was established through Yehoshua's 12 disciples. Therefore, Joshua, like Jacob, is Israel and the overcomer. Israel is a nation built around a temple. So Israel becomes one body with the temple, Israel becomes the temple, and the temple becomes Israel. The Bible testifies of the restoration of Israel as follows.

[Acts 1:6] So when they met together, they asked him, "Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?"

Israel was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD. However, the Church of God, citing the above scriptures, claims that Israel has been restored. And asserts that the Second Coming Yehoshua Christ will appear when destroyed Israel restores her kingdom. Was Israel then restored? Israel is a nation built around a temple. Therefore, if the temple is not restored, Israel will not be restored. So, did Israel restore the temple? No. A mosque was built on the site of the Temple in Jerusalem. So Israel has not restored the Temple, nor has the nation achieved full independence.

Also, the restoration of Israel, which the disciples asked Yehoshua, is the restoration of spiritual Israel. After the Resurrection, Yehoshua detailed to his disciples the future of spiritual Israel represented by the Kingdom of God.

[Acts 1:3] For forty days after Jesus had suffered and died, he proved in many ways that he had been raised from death. He appeared to his apostles and spoke to them about God's kingdom.

Therefore, the restoration of Israel that the disciples were curious about was the restoration of the kingdom of God represented by spiritual Israel, not physical Israel. Through the book of Revelation, John testified of the time of the restoration of the kingdom of God as follows.

[Revelation 11:15] The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign for ever and ever."

Spiritual Israel is restored when the seventh angel blows his trumpet. As I said earlier, Israel is one body with the temple and has the meaning of the overcomer. But it refers to Yehoshua. Yehoshua is the reality of the heavenly temple, the father of spiritual Israel, and the God who overcomes death.

[John 16:33 ] "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

Yehoshua is the reality of the temple. Therefore, when the Holy Spirit of Yehoshua comes on the saints and makes the saints' bodies a temple, spiritual Israel is restored.

[1 Corinthians 3:16~17] All of you surely know that you are God's temple and that his Spirit lives in you. Together you are God's holy temple, and God will destroy anyone who destroys his temple.

Israel never restored the Temple, so the fig, which is analogized to Israel, is dead to this day. Fleshly Israel killed Joshua on the cross because they did not believe in Joshua as God, so they are cursed and will never be restored.

But those who do not know this claim that Israel gained independence in 1948. Israel is one body with the temple. Therefore, if the temple is not restored, Israel will not be restored.
