The Bible testifies about Yehoshua who appeared according to the prophecy of Melchizedek as follows.

[Hebrews 7:1~3] This Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High. He met Abraham returning from the defeat of the kings and blessed him, and Abraham gave him a tenth of everything. First, his name means "king of righteousness"; then also, "king of Salem" means "king of peace." Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, like the Son of God he remains a priest forever.

However, the Church of God claims that the prophecy of Melchizedek was fulfilled by Ahnsahnghong, the founder of the Church of God. Their argument is summarized as follows.

1) Melchizedek had no father, no mother, and no genealogy, but Joshua inherited the genealogy of David of Israel. Also, not having parents means being an unbeliever. According to the Bible, an unbeliever in God was not recognized as a parent even if he had parents and siblings. To his mother and brothers who came to Joshua. He said that only those who do God's will can be my parents, so parents who do not believe in God cannot be my parents. Therefore, for Melchizedek, not having parents means that his parents do not believe in God. Jesus' parents, Joseph and Mary, believed in God, which doesn't fit Melchizedek's story. Therefore, Melchizedek cannot be Jesus. Melchizedek is a prophecy of Joshua, the Second Coming, who will return in the flesh at the end of the world. The prophecy of Melchizedek was fulfilled by Ahnsahnghong Ahnsahng, who is believed to be the Second Coming in the Church of God, because his parents did not believe in God.

2. The region of Salem, where Melchizedek became king, was a Gentile country at the time. However, Joshua was born in Israel, so it does not match Joshua's prophecy. This prophecy can only be fulfilled if Melchizedek is born in a Gentile country, and Ahn Sang-hong is the one who fulfilled this prophecy. Ahn was born in South Korea, not Israel, so Melchizedek's prophecy was fulfilled for Ahn.

3. Just as Melchizedek blessed Abraham with bread and wine, the Second Coming Jesus, who fulfilled Melchizedek's prophecy, must bless us with bread and wine at the Passover, also known as the Last Supper. Ahnsahnghong fulfilled Melchizedek's prophecy because he restored the Passover, which was abolished in 325 AD.

The members of the Church of God have been brainwashed by this doctrine and believe in Christ Ahnsahnghong as the Second Coming Jesus Christ. However, this is an incorrect interpretation.

1) In the Bible, Melchizedek refers to Yehoshua. Yehoshua was conceived by the Holy Spirit. Who were his parents if Yehoshua was conceived by the Holy Spirit? Also, genealogy is man-made. No genealogy means that Yehoshua is not human. Yehoshua, who came as the Holy Spirit, is God, and God has no parents. David testified of Melchizedek in Psalm 110: “The Lord has spoken to my Lord.” David called Melchizedek my Lord. Then, can Yehoshua, who fulfilled Melchizedek's prophecy, be said to be a descendant of David? The genealogy recorded in the Gospel of Matthew is not a physical genealogy, but a spiritual genealogy, and was written to prove that Yehoshua, who appeared as a descendant of David, is the Christ. The Bible prophesied that Christ would be born of David's descendants. Therefore, the genealogy of Matthew is a physical genealogy created to testify of Christ.

[Luke 20:41~44] Jesus said to them, "Why do they say that the Christ is the Son of David?" The LORD said to my Lord, "I will make your enemies your footstool." David called him "Lord." Call him, and how can he be his son?"

2) The region of Salem, where Melchizedek became king, is not a Gentile country, but an abbreviation for Jerusalem. So Melchizedek was king of Jerusalem. When Yehoshua entered Jerusalem, a large crowd welcomed Yehoshua as the king of Israel, which means that Yehoshua had come as Melchizedek had prophesied.

[John 12:12~13] The next day a large crowd was in Jerusalem for Passover. When they heard that Jesus was coming for the festival, they took palm branches and went out to greet him. They shouted, "Hooray! God bless the one who comes in the name of the Lord! God bless the King of Israel!"

Just as Melchizedek blessed Abraham with bread and wine, Yehoshua blessed the 12 apostles with bread and wine at the Last Supper. However, the true meaning of that blessing can be confirmed through the blessing God gave to Abraham. God appeared to Abraham and promised that your descendants would be as numerous as the stars in the sky. But before that, he blessed Abraham with bread and wine through Melchizedek. The Bible does not record what kind of blessing Melchizedek gave to Abraham, but the meaning of the blessing that Melchizedek gave to Abraham can be known through the blessing God gave to Abraham.

[Genesis 16:10] The angel added, "I will so increase your descendants that they will be too numerous to count."

God promised that Abraham's descendants would multiply greatly, and according to that promise, the 12 tribes of Israel were formed through Isaac and Jacob. Therefore, the blessing that Melchizedek gave to Abraham is the same as the blessing that Joshua gave to the 12 apostles, who fulfilled Melchizedek's prophecy. Just as Melchizedek blessed Abraham with bread and wine to bless the prosperity of his descendants, Yehoshua, who fulfilled Melchizedek's prophecy, also gave bread and wine to the 12 apostles representing the 12 tribes of Israel and blessed them. Thus, the early church was established through the 12 apostles.

When Yehoshua gave wine to his disciples at the Last Supper, he said that this was the blood that was shed for the forgiveness of sins. Therefore, the wine of the Last Supper symbolizes the blood of Yehoshua who accomplished the forgiveness of sins, that is, the blood of the sacrificial lamb sacrificed in the Old Testament. Just as the blood of the sacrificial lamb was sprinkled on the temple in Old Testament times, Yehoshua made his disciples drink wine, which symbolized his blood. So the disciples' bodies became the temple of heaven where the blood of the sacrificial lamb was sprinkled. And by having the disciples eat the bread, the Old Testament sacrificial law was fulfilled. Just as the priests of the Old Testament ate the meat of the burnt offering in the temple, the apostles appointed as priests in the heavenly temple also eat the bread that Yehoshua gave them, the substance of the sacrificial lamb. Also, washing the disciples' feet was to fulfill the prophecy that the priests washed their hands and feet in a laver before entering the temple.

Thus, the disciples who ate and drank the promised bread and wine of Yehoshua's flesh and blood at the Last Supper became the 12 tribes of spiritual Israel. They were also blessed to become priests in the heavenly temple, and their descendants will also receive many blessings.

[Isaiah 61:4~7] Then they will rebuild cities that have been in ruins for many generations. They will hire foreigners to take care of their sheep and their vineyards. But they themselves will be priests and servants of the LORD our God. The treasures of the nations will belong to them, and they will be famous. They were terribly insulted and horribly mistreated; now they will be greatly blessed and joyful forever.

Just as Melchizedek was said to have no beginning and no end, the life of Joshua, who fulfilled Melchizedek's prophecy, also had no beginning and no end. Joshua came by the Holy Spirit, and he died and rose again. That is why he is God Almighty, whose life has no beginning and no end.
