Most biblical scholars believe that there is no biblical record of Israel's history after the book of Malachi. But this is not true. God had Daniel record the history from the liberation of Israel from Babylon in 538 BC to the establishment of an independent nation around 140 BC.

[Daniel 8:20~26] The two-horned ram that you saw represents the kings of Media and Persia. The shaggy goat is the king of Greece, and the large horn between his eyes is the first king. The four horns that replaced the one that was broken off represent four kingdoms that will emerge from his nation but will not have the same power. "In the latter part of their reign, when rebels have become completely wicked, a stern-faced king, a master of intrigue, will arise. He will become very strong, but not by his own power. He will cause astounding devastation and will succeed in whatever he does. He will destroy the mighty men and the holy people. He will cause deceit to prosper, and he will consider himself superior. When they feel secure, he will destroy many and take his stand against the Prince of princes. Yet he will be destroyed, but not by human power. "The vision of the evenings and mornings that has been given you is true, but seal up the vision, for it concerns the distant future."

God informed Daniel of the history of Israel that would take place after Israel was liberated from Babylon and sealed it. If you look at the history of Israel after the liberation of Babylon, Israel was liberated from Babylon, but did not achieve national independence and was ruled by Persia from 538 BC to 333 BC. And after the fall of Persia in 333 BC, Alexander of Greece ruled, and after Alexander's death, four divided Greek kingdoms ruled. Then, in 170 B.C.E., he was killed and religiously oppressed by Syrian King Antiochus IV.

However, angered by this, Judah Maccabi revolted by the people and recaptured the temple in Jerusalem three years and six months later. He used this opportunity to drive the Syrian army out of Israel and establish an independent Hasmonia state. This is the history of Israel after the liberation of Babylon. However, God told Daniel the history from the liberation of Babylon to the establishment of the independent Hasmonite state in a parable and told him to seal it.

[Daniel 12:9] He replied, "Go your way, Daniel, because the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end.

In order to seal the history of spiritual Israel that began with Yehoshua, God sealed the history of physical Israel through Daniel. Therefore, if you carefully study the sealed history of physical Israel, you will be able to see the history of spiritual Israel as if you were seeing it with your own eyes. The history of natural Israel after the liberation of Babylon can be briefly summarized as follows.

1. In 538 BC the Persians invaded Babylon and liberated it from Babylon, but from then until 333 BC Israel was under Persian control.

2. In 333 BC Alexander the Great of Greece destroyed Persia, and Israel was ruled by Alexander the Great of Greece from this time to 323 BC.

3. After Alexander's death in 323 BC, Greece was divided into four states. From this point on, Israel was ruled by four states in turn until 281 BC.

4. After being ruled by the Syrians founded by Selicus from 281 BC, it was subjected to genocide and religious persecution by Antiochus IV, who ascended the throne in 170 BC.

5. In 167 BC, Maccabees of Judah led a popular uprising under Syrian oppression and recaptured the Temple of Jerusalem after 3 years and 6 months.

6. Beginning with the popular uprising of Judah Maccabi, the Syrian army was driven out of Israel, and around 140 BC Israel established an independent state called Hasmonia.

How, then, are these prophecies fulfilled spiritually? The history of physical Israel that began with David shows the history of spiritual Israel that will come from Joshua, who sat on the throne of David. Just as David laid the foundations of the temple, Yehoshua, who sat on David's throne, laid the foundations of the temple called the twelve apostles. And the completion of the temple by Solomon, the son of David, prophesied that the early church would be built by the disciples of Yehoshua. However, at the end of the Early Church, pagan doctrine was absorbed and the church was divided into Eastern and Western churches. However, this is the fulfillment of the prophecy that Solomon worshiped idols in the last years of his life and Israel was divided into Israel in the north and Judah in the south.

After division, northern Israel was destroyed by Assyria. However, this shows that the Western church built around Rome will forsake God and become a secular church. Also, the destruction of Judah in the south by Babylon prophesied the unification of the Eastern and Western churches. After the unification of the Eastern and Western churches, a new religious organization called Catholicism was launched. But this fulfilled the prophecy that Israel would suffer captivity to Babylon. Therefore, the history of physical Israel and the history of spiritual Israel can be summarized as follows.

1) Just as David built the temple site, Yehoshua, who sat on the throne of David, laid the temple site called the 12 apostles.

2) Just as Solomon, the son of David, completed the temple, Yehoshua gave the Holy Spirit to the disciples and made the body of the saints the temple. And through them, the early church was established.

3) At the end of Solomon, the kingdom was divided into two kingdoms due to Solomon's idolatry. Likewise, when heresy was introduced at the end of the Early Church, it was divided into the Eastern Church, which was built around Jerusalem, and the Western Church, which was built around Rome.

4) Northern Israel continued to worship idols after division and kept God's feasts differently, and eventually they were destroyed by Assyria. Likewise, at the end of the early church, the divided Western church colluded with the Roman emperor and absorbed various pagan doctrines, and it was severely corrupted.

5) After division, Judah in the south practiced idolatry, but sometimes obeyed God's will and was protected from foreign invasion. But they were destroyed by Babylon because of the corruption of the priests and leaders. Likewise, the Eastern Church, which was divided at the end of the Early Church, sometimes obeyed the Word of God and kept its purity, but eventually it was merged with the Western Church and deteriorated greatly.

6) Northern Israel and Southern Judah were captured by Babylon and spent 70 years in captivity, and many became slaves. Likewise, after the Eastern and Western churches became one, they became pagans and started anew as a religious organization called Catholicism. As a result, many saints were killed by Catholic witch hunts and the Inquisition.

7) With the help of the Medes and Persians, Israel was liberated from the Babylonian captivity and returned to the mainland to build a temple. However, this prophesied the destruction of Catholicism represented by Babylon. For over a thousand years, Catholicism has killed and harassed tens of millions of people through the Inquisition and witch hunts. As such, the fall of Babylon by the Medes and Persians showed that the evil deeds of Catholicism would be put to an end by Reformers such as Luther and Calvin. The Reformation freed many believers from Catholicism and allowed them to join Protestantism in search of freedom of faith. However, this fulfilled the prophecy that Israel was not independent but was under Persian rule.

8) Israel was ruled by the Persian Empire for 200 years before being ruled by Alexander the Great, who destroyed Persia in 333 BC. However, this shows that believers absorbed into Protestantism after the Reformation will be disappointed and leave Protestantism. Many Protestants zealously followed the Adventist ideas of William Miller, which emerged in 1834. During the decade, he had gathered numerous followers across Europe and America, but his proposed date for the Second Coming of Joshua failed. This event resulted in the wastage of many people's fortune and was a fulfillment of prophecy that Alexander would rule Israel after Persia.

9) When Alexander the Great died at a young age, Greece was divided into four kingdoms, and Israel was ruled by that kingdom. But this represents a prophecy that will happen after William Miller. Those who were disappointed with Miller were absorbed by the Adventist Church, Jehovah's Witnesses, and the Legalist Church. Those churches were the ones that followed Miller's ideas. However, this was the fulfillment of a prophecy that after the death of Alexander the Great, natural Israel would be ruled by the four divided nations of Greece.

10) Although the four divided kingdoms of Greece continued to dominate Israel, Israel was eventually slaughtered by the religious oppression of Antiochus IV, king of Syria, who appeared in 170 BC. However, this prophesied the church that would appear after the Adventists, Jehovah's Witnesses, and the legalistic church of the Old Testament. Like Antiochus IV, this church will oppress God's people and set up idols so that the saints will serve them.

11) The Maccabees of the tribe of Judah were outraged by the religious oppression of Antiochus IV, so they raised a popular uprising among the people and fought the Arameans. And they drove the Arameans out of Israel. However, this prophesied about the two witnesses who received the Holy Spirit of Yehoshua who came as a messenger from the tribe of Judah. The two witnesses will fulfill the prophecy of Antiochus IV and fight the appearing church. Just as Maccabees recaptured the Jerusalem Temple in 3 years and 6 months, the two witnesses will build the Temple of Heaven in 3 years and 6 months.

12) With the popular uprising of Judah Maccabi, Israel drove out the Syrian army and established an independent Hasmonia dynasty. But this prophesied that the kingdom of God would come after the two witnesses.

Therefore, the Book of Revelation shows the history of spiritual Israel that will take place after the liberation of Catholicism represented by spiritual Babylon. Just as most of the content of the history of physical Israel is concentrated at the end, the history of spiritual Israel prophesied in the Book of Revelation is also focused on the work that takes place at the end.

In order to seal the work of spiritual Israel that began with Yehoshua, God sealed the work of physical Israel through Daniel. Therefore, you must know the physical history of Israel to know the spiritual Israeli work.

[Revelation 22:10~11] Then he told me, "Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, because the time is near.Let him who does wrong continue to do wrong; let him who is vile continue to be vile; let him who does right continue to do right; and let him who is holy continue to be holy."
