Pastors silence members who criticize them on the grounds of blasphemy. The Church of God claims that criticizing a longtime member is blasphemy, but that's not what the Bible says blasphemy is. The first person to mention blasphemy was Joshua, and here's why.

[Matthew 12:22~31] Then they brought him a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute, and Jesus healed him, so that he could both talk and see. All the people were astonished and said, "Could this be the Son of David?" But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, "It is only by Beelzebub, the prince of demons, that this fellow drives out demons." Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand. If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand? And if I drive out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your people drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. But if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. "Or again, how can anyone enter a strong man's house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can rob his house. "He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters. And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven

When Yehoshua came to earth, he raised the lame man to his feet, opened the eyes of the blind man, healed the man with hemophilia, and raised Lazarus from the dead, who had been stinking for days. These things had never happened since the beginning of time, so many people believed in Yehoshua as a savior because of his power, and so did the apostles.

[John 2:11] This, the first of his miraculous signs, Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee. He thus revealed his glory, and his disciples put their faith in him.

But when the Pharisees and priests saw Yehoshua's amazing power, they didn't believe in him as a savior. They slandered Yehoshua, attributing the power of what he did to Satan, and this Jewish slander is called blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. So, blasphemy is the practice of criticizing God's power to heal the sick and raise the dead as the power of Satan. The Jewish priests spread rumors that the disciples had stolen the body to hide the fact that Yeshua had risen from the dead, which was a blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

Only God can raise the dead, so if you slander God's power by attributing it to the power of Satan, you will not be forgiven in this world. Some churches claim to have the power to heal the sick and raise the dead, but they are deceiving their members.
