The Church of God has caused numerous controversies and harm under the guise of religion, severely undermining social trust. Its time-limited apocalyptic doctrine, family-destructive teachings, and violent behavior go beyond differences in religious interpretation. These issues challenge the responsibilities and ethics that religion should uphold, escalating to a level of social harm that can no longer be ignored.

The time-limited apocalyptic doctrine propagated by the Church of God is not merely a matter of faith. It instills fear, paralyzing the rational judgment of believers and violating their fundamental rights, such as property and family. Cases of runaway members, divorces, and financial ruin vividly illustrate how this doctrine has destroyed countless lives. Even though the predicted apocalypse never came, the church has neither issued an apology nor reflected on its actions, leaving the full burden of the damage on the members and their families.

Additionally, incidents such as the organized assault on ex-members reported by MBC News, the telephone terrorism that paralyzed Wonju City Hall, and the assault on protestors in Jeju are merely a fraction of the violent behaviors exhibited by the Church of God. However, the church has dismissed these as "individual misconduct" by members, evading accountability. Furthermore, instead of offering sincere apologies to the victims of these violent acts, the church has blamed the victims or even defended the perpetrators. This demonstrates a complete collapse of the minimal moral standards expected of a religious institution.

Religion should provide comfort and hope to humanity. However, the Church of God has ignored the victims of its actions. Not only did the church's head pastor, but also its leaders, Jang Gil-ja and Kim Joo-cheol, refused to acknowledge any responsibility for the violent actions committed by its members, even when these acts occurred right in front of the church. They failed to offer even a gesture of consolation or an apology to the victims. Such attitudes stray far from the essence of religion, raising questions about whether the Church of God deserves to be called a religious organization at all.

The Bible states that beasts act instinctively because they lack reason. Yet, the Church of God repeatedly engages in instinctual and selfish behaviors under the name of religion, betraying even the teachings of the Bible. A religious community should bear moral responsibility for both individual and collective actions of its members. However, the Church of God consistently evades or rationalizes its actions whenever incidents occur, revealing a lack of true religious leadership. This is not just a matter of religion but an act that destroys social trust and ethical standards.
