The Prophecy of the Two Beasts and the Role of Satan in Revelation
The history of physical Israel, starting with David, foreshadowed the history of spiritual Israel, which would begin with Jesus seated on David's throne. Among the physical Israelites, the first "little horn" (Satan) symbolized the Catholic Church, which fulfilled the prophecies of both physical and spiritual Babylon. The second "little horn" (Satan) represented Antiochus IV in physical Israel and Kim Joo-cheol along with the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) in spiritual Israel.
Thus, the first beast rising from the sea in Revelation 13:1 refers to the Catholic Church, while the second beast rising from the earth in Revelation 13:11 represents the WMSCOG. Regarding this second beast, the Bible states:
"Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. It exercises all the authority of the first beast in its presence and makes the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose mortal wound was healed. It performs great signs, even making fire come down from heaven to earth in front of people. By the signs it is allowed to perform on behalf of the beast, it deceives those who dwell on earth, telling them to make an image for the beast that was wounded by the sword and yet lived."
The second beast, described as having two horns, signifies the WMSCOG, which venerates two idols: "God the Father" (Ahn Sahng-hong) and "God the Mother" (Zahng Gil-ja). Its speech, likened to a dragon, signifies false teachings, the manipulation of scripture, and self-exaltation against God. The act of "calling fire down from heaven" does not refer to literal fire but to a symbolic act, akin to Elijah calling down fire or claiming Elijah’s authority.
Elijah’s altar, which was consumed by fire, prefigured the descent of the Holy Spirit on the 12 apostles and believers, as flames of fire rested upon them. Similarly, the WMSCOG interprets scripture in ways that seem as though the Holy Spirit has descended, deceiving people by connecting Moses’ and Elijah’s histories with that of Jesus and the spiritual church. The Bible describes this deception as “performing signs to mislead those who dwell on earth.”
The second beast also compels people to make an image for the first beast (the Catholic Church) whose mortal wound was healed. The first beast, described in Revelation 13:1–3, represents the Catholic Church, fulfilling the prophecy of Babylon. One of its seven heads, which seemed mortally wounded but was healed, symbolizes Lucifer, the angel who governed Babylon.
Lucifer was wounded by Michael during the heavenly war after Jesus’ ascension but revived to establish the Catholic Church. This is detailed in Revelation:
"And I saw a beast rising out of the sea, with ten horns and seven heads, with ten diadems on its horns and blasphemous names on its heads... One of its heads seemed to have a mortal wound, but its mortal wound was healed, and the whole earth marveled as they followed the beast."
The second beast’s act of making an image for the first beast signifies setting up idols to honor Lucifer. Just as Lucifer erected a golden statue in Babylon for eternal dominion, he uses the WMSCOG to establish two idols (Ahn Sahng-hong and Zahng Gil-ja) to secure his influence.
The Lucifer who established the WMSCOG imposes the mark of the beast on its followers, described in scripture as 666. This symbolic number identifies those who bear the mark of Satan’s influence and allegiance. But what does the mark 666 represent? The answer lies in the analysis of the system and practices that align with Satan's dominion, as revealed through scripture.
