The history of Satan as revealed in Revelation 12 and 13 shows that after he was cast out of heaven, Satan founded a religious organization called the Catholic Church, which is an extension of the prophecy in Daniel 7. The Catholic Church, in power for 42 months, sought to kill God's people by changing the words of the Bible, but met resistance from Protestants founded by the Reformers in what was described as the War of the Woman's Remnant. This battle was won by the Catholics with the fall of the Reformers, as the Bible testifies that "the dragon was given authority to fight the saints and overcome them". But Satan's work didn't end with Catholicism, and the Bible reveals that he appears as another religious organization after Catholicism. The Bible describes this organization as a two-horned beast rising out of the ground.

Satan in the book of Daniel is described as a little horn, and the little horn doesn't appear just once, but once from the sea and once from the land. Thus, the beast that came up out of the sea witnessed in Revelation 13 is a fulfillment of the first little horn prophecy of Daniel 7, and the two-horned beast that came up out of the earth is a fulfillment of the second little horn prophecy of Daniel 8. So to know this, we need to know the history of Israel as recorded in the book of Daniel.

Because the history of Israel is detailed in a book called the Bible, the Bible is not only the history of Israel, but also a prophetic book that foretold the future of spiritual Israel. The history of Israel, beginning with Adam, is recorded in detail in the Bible, but the history of the nation from its liberation from Babylon in 450 BC until the coming of Jesus was kept tightly sealed and hidden. Many biblical scholars refer to the period from 450 BC to Jesus as the Dark Ages of the Bible because the history of Israel was lost. The reason we need to know the history of Israel is because they appeared as types and shadows of what will happen to spiritual Israel, so by knowing the history of physical Israel, we know the history of spiritual Israel. So, is 450 years of lost history not recorded at all? No. God prophesied 450 years of history through Daniel. But because he wrote it in parables, if you don't interpret it correctly, it's sealed forever.

[ Daniel 12:4] But you, Daniel, close up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge."

[Revelation 22:10] Then he told me, "Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, because the time is near.

The sealed books in the Bible refer to the book of Daniel, which records the history of physical Israel, and the book of Revelation, which records the history of spiritual Israel. The history of physical Israel is a type and shadow of what will be revealed to spiritual Israel, so if you don't know physical history, you can't know spiritual history, which is like the lost dream of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon.

Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, had an important dream, but when he couldn't remember what it was about, he summoned all the soothsayers and prophets of the country and ordered them to find his lost dream first, and then to interpret it. He then refused the king's order, saying that if he didn't know about the dream, he couldn't interpret it. The king, who thought that if they were true prophets, they would be able to figure out the lost dreams, found out that they were false prophets and had them all killed, but Daniel received a revelation from God and was given the lost dreams and their interpretation. Nebuchadnezzar's lost dream was a giant statue of a god made of gold, silver, brass, and iron that represented the history of the world from Babel, the same history of Israel that God had sealed through Daniel.

Just as many prophets in Babylon were unable to interpret dreams because they did not know the dreams, so many pastors and prophets today are silent on the history of spiritual Israel because they do not know the history of the lost Israel. So what is sealed in the book of Daniel is the history of physical Israel beginning with Babylon, and what is sealed in the book of Revelation is the history of spiritual Israel beginning with spiritual Babylon. So what is the history of Israel that is sealed through Daniel? We'll find out in the next post.
