However, in February 1985, Ahn Sang-hong suddenly collapsed, and the Seoul Church, which was superior in strength to the Busan Church, defended Jang Gil-jah and presented Kim Joo-cheol as its general president. The Busan Church was weakened after Umsuin and was unable to stop it. It had to cede most of its power to the Seoul Church and barely defend itself, being satisfied that its orthodoxy was not taken away.  The Seoul church mobilized young people to come to the Busan church and use force to force them to give up the Book of Life, the relics left by Ahnsahnghong, and the documents kept by the General Assembly. Evangelist Sunam Cho, Rev. Tae-sun Woo, and others threw themselves into the fray and fought back, barely managing to keep the Book of Life from being taken from them.

Joo Chul Kim convinced Mr. Ahn**, who kept the Busan Church's offering book, to withdraw 3 million won from the offering and steal it and not return it, and when the Busan Church, which was atrophying, was forced to stop its various activities because even the offering, which was a large amount of money at the time, was stolen and not returned. At the time of the funeral, Kim visited the parsonage to retrieve Ahn's belongings, but he was unable to take as much as the church's General Assembly materials. After Ahnsahnghong's passing, Jang Gil-ja's entourage moved quickly, and the members of Busan Church were busy organizing the funeral. The fact that Zhang Gilzha's group did not come to Yangshan's burial site suggests that they were plotting a scenario to take over the church at the extraordinary general assembly that would be held immediately after the funeral.
