The Church of God claims that the barren woman prophesied in Isaiah 54 is a prophecy about their leader, Jang Gil-jah, but this is not true.

[Isaiah 54:1] "Sing, O barren woman, you who never bore a child; burst into song, shout for joy, you who were never in labor; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband," says the LORD.

Kim Joo-cheol of the Church of God claims that the "barren woman" in Isaiah 54 is a prophecy about Jang Gil-jah, and teaches his congregation that the church will experience a greater revival when Ahn Sang-hong dies and Jang Gil-jah is left alone than when Ahn Sang-hong and Jang Gil-jah live together. However, this is an ignorant and shallow argument that does not even know the basics of the Bible.

Isaiah 53 and 54 are not different prophecies, they are connected prophecies, and the prophecy in chapter 53 is a foreshadowing of Jesus' fate on the cross.

[ Isaiah 53:4~5] Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.

Therefore, the barren woman of Isaiah 54 is a prophecy that would be fulfilled after the death of Jesus, and is a prophecy about the apostles and early church members. In the Bible, God is portrayed as the husband and the nation of Israel as the wife.

[Jeremiah 3:20] But like a woman unfaithful to her husband, so you have been unfaithful to me, O house of Israel," declares the LORD

Also, when we look at Adam and Eve, they were prophesying of Jesus and the saints who received Jesus' Holy Spirit, not the actual man and woman. Therefore, the woman who was alone after Jesus' death was not an actual woman, but the apostles and saints who were left alone. The woman who is alone is described as the Jerusalem temple because the saints who have received Jesus' Holy Spirit have become the temple of God.

[ Isaiah 54:11~12] "O afflicted city, lashed by storms and not comforted, I will build you with stones of turquoise, your foundations with sapphires. I will make your battlements of rubies, your gates of sparkling jewels, and all your walls of precious stones.

[1 Corinthians 3:16] Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?

So Jerusalem, likened to a barren woman in Isaiah 54, is a metaphor for the apostles and saints of the early church. Historically, it was the saints who led the revival of the early church after Jesus, and the Bible testifies that there were more children of barren women than there were children of those with husbands.
