Born in Gyeonggi Province in 1943, Jang Gil-jah married Kim Jae-hoon in his mid-20s and lived happily with one son and one daughter. However, he was evangelized by an elderly man and joined the Church of God in 1969. At the time, the Church of God preached apocalypticism in 1971, and it seems that Jang Gil-ja was deluded into joining.

However, when the predicted apocalypse failed, the church stagnated, and it was Evangelist Uhm Soo-in who revitalized it. He published the booklet God in the Flesh in 1978, testifying to Ahnsahnghong Ahnsahng as the second coming of Jesus, and later proclaimed himself the bride of God. To proclaim herself as the bride of God, she circulated a booklet called Zion and Jerusalem, which became a problem and led to her disfellowshipping in February 1983.

Ahn later published a booklet called The New Jerusalem and the Bride's Towel Problem, in which he strongly criticized Uhm, saying that God the Mother does not exist. The pamphlet was a warning not only to Mr. Uhm, but to all saints who, like Mr. Uhm, claimed to be God the Mother. Mr. Ahn's criticisms were carried out in sermons until February 1985, when he died. Ahn's dislike and hatred of God the Mother can also be seen in his sermons, where he strongly criticized those who claimed to be God the Mother as mentally ill, regardless of who they were.

However, on February 25, 1985, Ahn Sang-hong died suddenly, and Kim Joo-cheol and Jang Gil-jah's hidden ambitions were revealed with his death. The Seoul Church, which convened an extraordinary general assembly after the funeral, brought out photos of Ahn and Jang Gil-jah's wedding and passed a resolution claiming Jang Gil-jah as God's bride. The Busan church members, who were distraught over Ahn's death, lamented that they had been deceived by Kim Joo-cheol and Jang Gil-jah. Eventually, after much resistance from the Busan church members, Kim Joo-cheol wrote a memorandum stating that he would not idolize Jang Gil-jah.

In June of that year, however, they organized their own church and, in a meeting, elected Jang Gil-ja as their mother God. The biblical wedding feast of the Lamb features guests. But the wedding of Ahnsahnghong and Jang Gil-ja had no guests. Without guests, their marriage is a carnal marriage and has nothing to do with biblical marriage.

Therefore, the marriage of Ahn Sang-hong, a married man, and Jang Gil-jah, a divorcee, is not something to be proud of, but something shameful and embarrassing to hide.
