In 2014, the Church of God Victims Group held a protest in front of Imae-dong, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, where the main church of the Church of God (formerly known as the Main Church) is located. However, the protest was disrupted by powerful men hired by the church.

The men, many of whom were six feet tall and over 100 pounds, blocked the protesters' vehicles, shoved them, threatened them, and said "sharpen your knives" with the implication that they might use them. Their behavior resembled that of gangsters.

These men marked and threatened protesters at every demonstration, but the church defended their actions and never apologized for their behavior. They have continued to disrupt victims' protests for years afterward. According to the information, one of the men testified that he was part of the bodyguard team protecting Mr. Jang Gil-jah.
