Earlier this year, male members of the Church of God assaulted me, insulted me, and defamed my character, resulting in them being indicted by prosecutors. In other words, they became individuals with criminal records. However, as time passed, the perpetrators seemed to forget their actions and mocked the protester once again.
In response, the protester filed another complaint against the perpetrators for stalking and defamation, providing accumulated video evidence of their repeated offenses. Additionally, four more complaints are being prepared. Furthermore, the protester plans to file a civil lawsuit against the perpetrators, demanding 20 million KRW per person for damages related to the previously prosecuted cases.
If someone has committed harm, the proper course of action is self-reflection and offering an apology to the victim. However, these individuals seem to show no remorse whatsoever. Such people need to be "educated" through financial consequences. If the perpetrators read this and continue their insolent behavior, they will face greater suffering. If you meet me tomorrow, I expect you to kneel and sincerely apologize. Should you refuse, you will be required to appear at the police station four more times. The choice is yours.
The penalty for general stalking crimes ranges from at least 500,000 KRW to as much as 2 million KRW.
If you have plenty of money, feel free to resist until the very end.
Below is the sentencing guideline and fine amount for general stalking crimes:
"As of July 1, 2024, the sentencing guidelines established by the Supreme Court Sentencing Commission for stalking crimes are now in effect. According to these guidelines, the basic sentence for general stalking crimes is 6 months to 1 year of imprisonment or a fine ranging from 500,000 KRW to 2 million KRW."
