To understand the true identity of Satan as testified in the Bible, one must delve into the sealed history of physical Israel, as revealed through Daniel. This is because the physical history of Israel, beginning with David, prophetically illustrates the spiritual history of Israel that would begin with Jesus, who sits on David’s throne.
As previously examined, when David laid the foundation for the temple, it foreshadowed Jesus laying the foundation of the church through the 12 apostles. Solomon’s completion of the temple symbolized Jesus giving the Holy Spirit to believers, thereby establishing them as temples of God—this was the early church. The division of Israel into the northern kingdom (Israel) and the southern kingdom (Judah) during Solomon’s later reign, due to his sins, was a prophecy of the early church’s division into Eastern and Western churches at the end of its period due to heretical doctrines.
The Western church, after receiving official recognition through the Edict of Milan, transitioned from being a persecuted church to one that persecuted others. This fulfilled the prophecy of the northern kingdom’s fall to Assyria. Furthermore, the Western church’s absorption of the Eastern church fulfilled the prophecy of Judah’s fall to Babylon. After merging with the Eastern church, the Western church abandoned its identity as Eastern and Western factions and emerged as the Catholic Church. It then instituted inquisitions and witch hunts, persecuting God’s people, which fulfilled the prophecy of Israel’s suffering and deaths in Babylon. Thus, the Catholic Church fulfilled the prophecy of spiritual Babylon.
However, the sealed history of Israel does not end with Babylonian captivity. In 537 BC, Israel was liberated by the Medes and Persians and returned to their homeland. This liberation symbolized God’s people, suffering under the Catholic Church, transitioning to Protestantism through reformers like Martin Luther and John Calvin. Yet, just as Israel remained under Persian control from 537 BC to 333 BC without gaining full independence, God’s people liberated from Catholicism came under the dominion of Protestantism. Thus, Protestantism fulfilled the prophecy of the Medes and Persians overthrowing Babylon.
Later, Israel fell under the rule of Alexander the Great (333–323 BC) and, after his death, was controlled by the four kingdoms established by his generals. Similarly, many Protestants came under the influence of William Miller (1834–1844), who led a movement proclaiming the imminent second coming of Jesus. Miller, like Alexander, rapidly gained followers across Europe, fulfilling the same prophecy. When Miller’s second coming predictions failed, denominations such as the Seventh-day Adventists, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Feasts-keeping groups, and Pentecostal churches emerged, fulfilling the prophecy of the nations that arose after Alexander’s death.
The Seventh-day Adventist Church eventually gave rise to the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG). After the death of its founder, Ahn Sahng-hong, in 1985, WMSCOG was restructured by Kim Joo-cheol. This fulfilled the prophecy of Antiochus IV Epiphanes of the Seleucid kingdom. Just as Antiochus IV set up idols of Zeus and other Hellenistic gods in God’s temple, Kim Joo-cheol established the idols of Ahn Sahng-hong and Jang Gil-ja in WMSCOG. This act fulfilled the prophecy of spiritual Antiochus IV.
Thus, the beast with two horns rising from the earth in Revelation 13:11 represents Kim Joo-cheol and the World Mission Society Church of God. Studying the two-horned beast in Revelation 13 reveals that Kim Joo-cheol fulfills the prophecy of Antiochus IV, making him a manifestation of Satan’s influence.
