[Question]

Can you explain why the Church of God considers the Passover to be so important?

Also, what is the significance of the Last Supper and why is it compared to the Passover?

I'm confused because I'm not familiar with it and don't understand it very well.

I need to learn counter-doctrines, but it feels overwhelming.

Don’t worry too much. Whether you're someone who considers themselves knowledgeable in the Bible or someone with little knowledge, there is not much difference in the understanding of the Bible. Let me explain briefly for you. The Bible is divided into the Old and New Testaments. The Old Testament records the ancient history of Israel, which lived in the Middle East, while the New Testament records the birth and activities of Jesus (whose original name was Yeshua) after His baptism and from the age of 30 onwards.

The Old Testament foretells the coming of the Messiah (the Savior, Christ), and that Messiah is Jesus. The sign that Jesus is the Messiah is His resurrection. The Bible also provides detailed prophecies about when, where, how, and why the Messiah would come. One of the key signs is that the Messiah would be born through a virgin. Jesus' birth to the virgin Mary fulfills the prophecy of the Messiah.

The Bible is divided into two periods: the Old Testament, which records the physical history of Israel (Jewish faith), and the New Testament, which records the spiritual history of the Christian Church that began with Jesus. The Old Testament and New Testament may seem unrelated, but they are closely connected. To understand how the spiritual history of Israel (the Christian Church) progresses, we must first understand the history of physical Israel (Judaism), because the history of physical Israel serves as a model and shadow of the spiritual Israel that was to come.

The history of physical Israel in the Old Testament is a model and shadow of the future, and even the God they worshiped, Jehovah, is a symbol, a model, and a shadow pointing to Jesus. The name Jehovah means "I Am" and was not the actual name of God, but a pronoun used to refer to Himself. Only Jesus, who came as the Messiah, knows the true name of God. Jesus revealed to His disciples that the Father’s name is the name He was given, which is Jesus (Yeshua). Therefore, the actual name of God is Jesus.

The Church of God claims that God appears in three different forms: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, each with a different name and form. They claim that the Father’s name is Jehovah, the Son’s name is Jesus, and the Holy Spirit’s name is Ahn Sahng-Hong. They also argue that the sign of the Son and the Holy Spirit is the Passover. This is based on their misunderstanding of the Last Supper, which they confuse with the Passover. They claim that unless one eats the bread and drinks the wine representing Jesus' flesh and blood on the Passover, they cannot have eternal life. However, as already mentioned, the Last Supper was not on the Passover itself but the day before. The true sign of the Messiah, according to the Bible, is not the Passover but the resurrection, where the Messiah demonstrated the power of life over death. The Church of God teaches the Passover as the sign of the Messiah because their leader, Ahn Sahng-Hong, passed away suddenly in 1985 and has not resurrected, so they teach this false doctrine to brainwash their followers.

God does not appear in three eras but only in two: the Old Testament era as Jehovah and the New Testament era as Jesus. Jehovah, who existed as the Spirit, came as Jesus. After Jesus' death and resurrection, He returned to His original form, which is the Spirit. Therefore, the claim that God appears in three forms is an ignorant and incorrect teaching.

If you want to study the Bible, you need to learn about the history of Israel as recorded in the Old Testament, the history of the Church starting with Jesus in the New Testament, and the history of the laws and rituals that took place in the Temple of Israel, all of which point to the history of Jesus.
