This is material made for Bible beginners fighting against the Church of God. Since it is created for beginners, responses that go beyond the materials should be avoided. The basic doctrine of the Church of God is the Sabbath and the Passover. The Council of Nicaea in AD 325 abolished the Passover, but since their leader Ahn Sahng-Hong restored the Passover in 1964, they teach that Ahn Sahng-Hong is God. Initially, they begin with the Passover, but once people are brainwashed by the Passover, they are taught that Ahn Sahng-Hong, who restored the Passover, is the Father God, and that Jang Gil-Ja, who married Ahn Sahng-Hong, is the Mother God. Once the doctrine of Ahn Sahng-Hong and Jang Gil-Ja is fully implanted, they are taught to believe only what Ahn Sahng-Hong, Jang Gil-Ja, and their claimed successor, Kim Ju-Cheol, say. Even when presented with rational evidence, they only listen to the church. Additionally, they are brainwashed not to trust their family's words. They are taught to see family members who criticize the Church of God as demons, and that their earthly families and parents are fake. They are taught that their real parents are Ahn Sahng-Hong and Jang Gil-Ja, and that only the members of the Church of God are their real family. Therefore, to convince them, it is necessary to address the immoral and unfilial aspects of the leaders and uproot the rotten root of the Passover. Depending on the level of brainwashing, the process of persuading them may take a long time. Only those who truly love the person will succeed in convincing them. I wish you success.

4. The Church of God claims that Jesus died on the 15th day of the Jewish calendar, but church history records that Jesus died at 3 PM on the 14th.

Question: When was the Passover abolished?

Friend: The Council of Nicaea in AD 325, led by Emperor Constantine, officially abolished it, as recorded in church history.

Question: Can you show that it is true?

Friend: (A well-prepared member can explain this, but an unprepared member might either call another member or delay the explanation to prepare. This role-play continues assuming the explanation can be provided.) Look at the "Concise Church History" from Sejong Publishing House, it shows that in May-June of 325, Constantine convened a meeting in Nicaea, and the reason was that Eastern churches were observing the Passover while Western churches emphasized Sunday. In other words, the Eastern churches in Jerusalem kept the Passover on the 14th of the Jewish month, while the Western church in Rome did not observe it on the 14th but instead celebrated it on Sunday. So, the meeting was called to adjust the Passover date, and in the end, the Passover was abolished by keeping it on Sunday.

Question: Can you show more evidence that Eastern and Western churches kept the Passover on different days?

Friend: If you look at page 121 of the "Concise Church History" published by the Korean Christian Publishing Association, it says, "However, there was a difference between the Eastern and Western churches. The most important date in Asia was the 14th of Nisan (the 1st month in the Jewish calendar), the day when the Passover lamb was slaughtered, and according to the four Gospels, the day Jesus was crucified. In this Passover week, Christians would fast until 3 PM and then have the Eucharist. However, in the Western church, they fasted until the Sunday following the 14th of Nisan and held the Eucharist then, a practice based on the belief that Christ was resurrected on that day." This is the same as what I mentioned earlier, that Eastern churches kept the Passover on the 14th of Nisan, while Western churches kept the Eucharist on Sunday.

Question: So the "Asian church" mentioned here is the Eastern church, and the Eastern church observed the Passover on the 14th, right?

Friend: Yes, that's right...

Question: So, did Jesus die on the 14th?

Friend: No... He died on the 15th.

Question: But church history says Jesus died on the 14th? It says, "The most important date in Asia was the 14th of Nisan, the day when the Passover lamb was slaughtered, and according to the four Gospels, the day Jesus was crucified." Isn't that right?

Friend: Uh... that seems strange... I think the church history is wrong...

Question: Yeah... other church history books also say Jesus died on the 14th... Here, it says, "In the churches of Asia Minor, the resurrection of Jesus was commemorated on the 14th of Nisan, the day He was crucified, and then on the 16th of the same month, they celebrated the resurrection." Is this wrong too?

#The Church of God claims that the Last Supper with Jesus and His disciples was the Passover, and they celebrate it grandly. However, the Bible and church history record that Jesus had the Last Supper on the 13th and died on the 14th. The Church of God teaches that Jesus died on the 15th, so if they learn that Jesus died on the 14th, they may temporarily waver. The Church of God claims to follow the teachings of the Eastern churches, but church history shows that the Eastern church commemorated Jesus' death on the 14th and celebrated His resurrection on the 16th, three days later. The Church of God, however, celebrates Jesus' death on the 15th and His resurrection on the following Sunday, just like the Western church.
