The Church of God’s Kim Joo-chul, in a sermon on the Day of Atonement, claimed that in order to receive forgiveness of sins, the high priest must enter the Holy of Holies, and then he argued that the Holy of Holies described in the Bible is actually Zhang Gil-ja. He further stated that the earthly sanctuary is a model and shadow of the heavenly sanctuary, and since the earthly Holy of Holies is represented by a rectangular shape, he claims that in heaven, there is also a Holy of Holies, symbolized by Zhang Gil-ja, the leader of their church. According to Kim Joo-chul, all the people’s sins are ultimately held in the Holy of Holies, represented by Zhang Gil-ja, and are handed over to Satan, and therefore, he claims, Zhang Gil-ja should be praised and thanked. However, this claim by Kim Joo-chul is a false teaching that shows a lack of biblical understanding.
In contrast, the Bible teaches that in the earthly temple, for the people’s sins to be forgiven, the high priest must indeed enter the Holy of Holies, and the Bible testifies that Jesus Christ is the high priest. Therefore, the place where Jesus enters is the Holy of Holies. The Bible also shows that Jesus enters the bodies of the repentant saints, meaning the bodies of the saints become the heavenly Holy of Holies. Since Jesus, as the high priest, enters the bodies of the saints through the Holy Spirit to cleanse their sins, if the Holy Spirit does not enter into the Holy of Holies (the saints), their sins cannot be washed away.
Therefore, the heavenly Holy of Holies, where the Holy Spirit resides, is not Zhang Gil-ja, but refers to the saints who have received the Holy Spirit. The reason why members of Zhang Gil-ja’s church behave wickedly and act erratically is that they are fulfilling prophecies symbolized by the Azazel goat, representing Satan.
