The Church of God claims that the reference to "Our Father who art in heaven" in the Lord's Prayer implies the existence of a Heavenly Mother. However, Jesus also said to the Jews, "You are of your father the devil" (John 8:44). According to the Church of God's reasoning, does this not suggest that there is both a Father Devil and a Mother Devil?

In Revelation 17, the harlot is described as the "mother of all abominations," and the Church of God claims this harlot represents the Catholic Church. If the father of the wicked is Lucifer, the devil, and the mother is symbolized by the Catholic Church, then it logically follows that the Father and Mother in Heaven must refer to God and the Church. Additionally, in Ephesians 5, the relationship between Adam and Eve is symbolic of Christ and the Church, which means the father and mother of the wicked are a metaphor for Lucifer and the fallen Church.

[Ephesians 5:31-32] "For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church."

[John 8:44] "You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do."

[Revelation 17:5] "On her forehead was a name written: Mystery, Babylon the Great, the mother of harlots and of the abominations of the earth."

Therefore, claiming that because there is a Father in heaven, there must also be a Mother, is an ignorant claim that misrepresents the Bible.
