The World Mission Society Church of God teaches that its founder, Ahn Sahng-hong, was baptized in 1948 by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. This claim forms a core part of the church's theology, connecting it to the independence of Israel in 1948, which is interpreted as the "fig tree" prophecy. The church teaches its members that the Second Coming Christ must be baptized at the age of 30 in 1948, the year Israel regained independence, fulfilling King David’s prophecy. They claim that Ahn Sahng-hong is the prophesied Second Coming Christ.
The church further asserts that because Jesus was crucified without completing His three-year gospel ministry, the Second Coming Christ must fulfill that work. According to their doctrine, Ahn Sahng-hong was baptized at the age of 30 and completed the remaining 37 years of Jesus’ ministry, passing away in 1985.
Based on this teaching, all members of the World Mission Society Church of God believe Ahn Sahng-hong to be God. They are taught that tithes and various offerings are a religious duty because Ahn Sahng-hong is the Second Coming Christ and Melchizedek.
However, according to Seventh-day Adventist Church records, Ahn Sahng-hong was not baptized in 1948 but in 1954 by Pastor Kim Seok-young in Haeundae-gu. This fact contradicts the church's teachings and undermines the theological foundation used to convince members to believe in the doctrine of the Second Coming Christ.
Legal experts have reviewed the matter and determined that the elements of fraud may be present. The main points of fraud include:
The statute of limitations for fraud is generally 10 years. Since I left the church 15 years ago, I cannot act as a victim in this case.
I am currently seeking individuals who left the church within the last 10 years and who have experience paying tithes or offerings based on the belief that Ahn Sahng-hong was the Second Coming Christ. I am requesting volunteers willing to write testimonies in the following format:
Once these testimonies are collected, they will serve as evidence for a formal legal complaint. If additional statements are required during the investigation, you may be asked to appear in person to provide further testimony. As soon as three or more volunteers are willing to submit testimonies, I will proceed with the legal complaint. I will act as the representative, compile all evidence, and manage the legal process.
If you are interested in participating, please express your intention via chat. I am preparing a systematic legal response to uncover the truth and seek justice for those affected. Thank you.
