If we examine the origin of biblical festivals, the duration from Pentecost to the Day of Atonement spans 120 days. According to the Bible, the day Moses ascended Mount Sinai to receive the first set of the Ten Commandments was designated by God as Pentecost, and the day he received the second set of commandments was established as the Day of Atonement.

• The First Commandments:
  Moses ascended Mount Sinai (starting from Pentecost) and fasted for 40 days. Upon receiving the commandments, he descended the mountain, only to find the Israelites worshiping a golden calf. In anger, he shattered the tablets.

• Repentance and the Second Commandments:
  After 40 days of repentance, Moses ascended the mountain a second time, fasting for another 40 days, before receiving the second set of commandments on the Day of Atonement.

• Calculation of the Duration:
  Thus, the time from Pentecost to the Day of Atonement is:
  40 days (first ascent) + 40 days (repentance) + 40 days (second ascent) = 120 days total.

Discrepancy in the Church of God's Calendar

Looking at the Jewish calendar for festivals, the period from Pentecost to the Day of Atonement consistently spans approximately 120 days.

However, in the Church of God's calendar, the period arbitrarily varies between 115 days to 147 days, resembling the whims of a street vendor who adjusts at will.
