I joined H Church in 1995 and attended until January 2016.
The reason I left was that the church had transformed from a humble truth-centered church into a large, money-driven institution.
When I announced my decision to leave, I was asked to meet with two female evangelists who said they were on an errand from 'Mother.'
I had two main questions for the evangelists from the General Assembly:
Their response to the first question was this:
During a regular General Assembly meeting, Mother reportedly stated that if any senior pastors were preaching about 2012, they should immediately step down from their positions and leave. However, they claimed that some immature senior pastors continued to spread the prophecy about 2012.
At church, I had been taught through the prophecy of the temple construction and the 2,300 evenings and mornings that the world would end in 2012, as ordained by Father. However, I was later told that Father decided to 'shorten the time' due to concerns over our weak faith.
I also learned that Heavenly Mother bore the burden of all sins and faults of the 144,000 children. But in reality, it seemed as though all sins and faults were being blamed on the senior pastors and members, while only glory was reserved for Mother.
In response to my second question, they showed me a passage from Father’s book, The Opening of the Seven Thunders, which included a section referring to a 'child.' They explained that this section symbolized Mother coming after Father.
However, on the very next page of the book, it was written that the 'child' referred to 'a believer with a pure soul, like that of a child.' When I questioned them about this, they deflected and avoided giving a clear answer.
As they continued to deflect, the two evangelists suddenly showed me a wedding photo and said, 'We have the photo—what need is there for the Bible?'
At that moment, I was convinced.
I was certain that H Church was not about the truth. That realization gave me the clarity to leave.
