I practiced my faith in the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCOG) while enduring both major and minor lies. From attending the Gwanak Church and Gangseo Church to participating in overseas evangelism missions...
I joined in 1998 and witnessed events like the Y2K scare in 2000, the Yeonpyeong Naval Battle, and the 2012 doomsday prophecy. Reflecting on these significant moments, I realize that I was merely a pawn in WMSCOG's deceitful schemes, entangled in their endless fabrications.
Phrases like 'The time has come' and 'I can hear the Father's footsteps' were used whenever members began to doubt or their faith started to waver. They would badger us with these nonsensical statements to pressure the congregation into staying compliant.
Whenever their date-based predictions caused unease, they would shift the blame entirely onto the members, saying, 'It's because the children lack faith,' or 'It's due to their poor behavior and character.' Every failure was pushed onto the members, painting them as the root cause of all problems.
But what kind of parent places the blame for everything on their children? In the real world, when children go astray, parents feel the pain as if it’s their own failure. Yet in WMSCOG, the so-called 'children'—the members—are always held responsible when things go wrong. They coerced us into embracing their baseless beliefs, like the 'Jubilee Year,' and when nothing happened, they would shrug it off, saying, 'I never said that,' or 'I never told you to do that.'
This endless cycle of irresponsibility and deceit from the so-called Mother God, the General Assembly, and their close relatives left me disillusioned. Their hypocrisy and lies finally pushed me to decisively leave this manipulative organization.
