Satan’s Emergence in Daniel 7 and 8 and the Hidden Prophecies of Creation
Prophecy in the Six Days of Creation
Daniel 7 and 8 describe Satan's emergence from both the sea and the earth, with similar prophecies hidden within the six days of creation in Genesis. The six days of creation are not simply about physical creation but foretell the spiritual creation of churches through Jesus Christ. The light and darkness created on the first day symbolize Jesus and the Jewish religion that opposed Him.
The Light and Darkness on the First Day
[John 1:1-11] "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God... (Verse 5) The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it... (Verse 9) The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world... (Verse 11) He came to that which was His own, but His own did not receive Him."
The "Word" described by John refers to the words spoken during the six days of creation. The light and darkness on the first day symbolize Jesus, the Truth, and the Jewish people who rejected Him.
The Clouds on the Second Day
On the second day, clouds were created, symbolizing Jesus' resurrection and the ascension of saints to heaven. Clouds are formed when water from the sea evaporates and rises into the sky. Similarly, the Bible depicts resurrected saints ascending to heaven "on the clouds" (Revelation 11:12). Thus, the clouds created on the second day represent Jesus' resurrection and the ascension of many saints.
[Matthew 27:52-53] "The tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared to many people."
Land and Trees on the Third Day
On the third day, God separated the land from the sea and created fruit-bearing trees. This foretells the establishment of the early church after Jesus' resurrection. In the Bible, grass and trees often symbolize people. The sea represents those unsaved within the Jewish religion and the world, while the land and fruit-bearing trees symbolize the early church and saints established through the Holy Spirit.
The Sun and Moon on the Fourth Day
On the fourth day, God created the sun to govern the day and the moon to govern the night. These celestial bodies symbolize the historical division of the early church into the Eastern and Western churches. After Jesus' crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension (symbolized by the light of the first day), the Holy Spirit established the early church (symbolized by the land). However, toward the end of the early church era, the church became divided due to corruption. This division into the Eastern Church centered in Jerusalem and the Western Church centered in Rome is represented by the sun and moon.
The seasons, days, and years established on the fourth day signify the time of spiritual harvest. The seasons represent farming cycles, and days and years signify the appointed times for harvesting souls. Thus, the creation of the sun and moon on the fourth day symbolizes the emergence of the Eastern and Western churches.
The Beasts on the Fifth Day
On the fifth day, God created creatures in the sea and on land, symbolizing the emergence of two churches opposing God. Daniel 7 and 8 describe Satan’s two appearances—first through a beast from the sea and then through a beast from the earth. The first "little horn" in Daniel 7 represents the Catholic Church, while the second "little horn" in Daniel 8 foretells another specific church emerging after the Catholic Church.
The beasts created on the fifth day represent these two churches. The beast from the sea signifies the Catholic Church that absorbed the Eastern Church, while the beast from the earth represents a specific church established in the end times.
Man and Woman on the Sixth Day
The man and woman created on the sixth day symbolize the two witnesses empowered by God and the saints who will receive the Holy Spirit after them. Before the end of the world, these two witnesses will confront Satan's forces, represented by the beast from the earth.
[Revelation 11:3-10] "And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth... (Verse 10) The inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth."
The man and woman created on the sixth day, who were given dominion over all the beasts of the earth, symbolize the two witnesses given Jesus’ authority and the saints who will receive the Holy Spirit after them. Satan will establish a church in the last days, symbolized by the beast rising from the earth.
