The Church of God is run by the physical families of Joo Chul Kim and Gil Ja Jang. Kim is the youngest of two sons and two daughters. His brother Kim Ju-hyun sits in an important seat in the General Assembly, as does his sister Kim Hae-sook. Jang Gil-jah's sister, Jang Young-Ja, and younger brother, Jang Young-sik, assist him, as do his son, Kim Min-hye, and daughter, Kim Hyo-kyung.
