The WMSCOG’s claim of a Second Coming Christ in the flesh is a cult doctrine.

1. Jesus’ Warning: The Emergence of False Christs and False Prophets
Two thousand years ago, Jesus already warned in Matthew 24, “Many false Christs and false prophets will appear and deceive many people.” He made it clear that, especially in the last days, individuals claiming to be the Christ and false prophets would distort the truth and deceive people. Such occurrences began in the later period of the early church. There were those who claimed to be “Christ in the flesh,” those who said Christ had not yet come, and those who, calling themselves “sons of God,” established churches to exploit members’ property and labor, even causing physical harm. In this context, the Apostle John strongly warned in 2 John 1:7, “Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist.”

2. The Work of Jesus: Fulfillment of the Law and Sin
The Bible clearly records the work of Jesus. According to Hebrews 9, Jesus came in the flesh as prophesied by the law and, through the cross, took upon himself all sin once for all. As a result, there is no longer any need to seek salvation through works of the law, and he promised to appear a second time to those who are waiting for salvation (Hebrews 9:28). This means that the purpose of the Second Coming is not to reintroduce the law or to reinstate festivals, but to appear in glory to the saved. In other words, since Jesus has already fulfilled the law and sin, he does not require believers to perform the works of the law again.

3. The Present Work of Jesus through the Holy Spirit
After the work of the cross, Jesus dwells within believers through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit transforms the lives of early Christians, revealing Jesus’ love and character in them. Isaiah 59 prophesied that the Redeemer would come to Zion and be present with the penitent as the Spirit, and this was fulfilled with the coming of the Holy Spirit.

4. The Manner of the Second Coming: Jesus Will Return in Glory
On the last day, Jesus will appear in glory so that everyone will see him. Matthew 24 says, “For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.” Revelation 1:7 also declares, “He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him.” The Second Coming of Jesus will not be secret or in a particular physical body, but a historic event witnessed by all humanity.

5. The Reality and Deception of False Second Coming Christs
Who are those today who claim to be the “Second Coming Jesus”? These people claim to be Christ, demand the keeping of the law and feasts, and insist that salvation is only through them. The Bible clearly states that such individuals are antichrists. Since Jesus has already fulfilled the law and sin, his return has nothing to do with legalistic observances. However, heretical groups like the WMSCOG and Ahn Sahng-hong emphasize Sabbath and feast keeping, claiming to be the “truth.” But this is utterly contrary to the essence of the gospel.

6. Conclusion: Only Jesus is the Truth and Salvation
Jesus has fulfilled the law and sin, and now dwells in believers through the Holy Spirit. We are saved not by works of the law, but by the grace of Jesus Christ. When Jesus returns in glory at the last day, all nations will see him clearly. To avoid the deception of false Christs and false prophets, we must hold fast to the truth of Scripture and remain in the perfect salvation of Jesus. “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32)
