Many people who believe in God today know the name of the Savior who saved mankind on the cross 2,000 years ago as Jesus. But the name of the Savior who saved mankind is not Jesus. Church members would be shocked if the Savior's name was not Jesus. However, even now, you must know the name of the Savior accurately and pray in that name to receive true salvation. The Hebrew name of Jesus is Yehoshua (יהושע). However, the name was changed in the process of being translated into several languages. The Savior's name is very important and should not be changed. The Bible testifies that God's people know God's name. Therefore, God's people must call on the Savior's name correctly. 

Jesus' real name, Yehoshua (יהושע), has two meanings in Hebrew. One is "Yeshua" and the other is "Yeho". Yeshua means Lord and Yeho means salvation. Therefore, Jesus' real name, Yehoshua, means "The Lord is salvation." However, people who don't know this claim that Jesus' Hebrew name is Yeshua. This is only knowing half the meaning of the name.

Some people argue that we don't need to call the Savior Yehoshua. They claim that we can be saved even if we don't call the Savior's name properly. But this is absurd sophistry. Even in the world, when children address adults, they do so in the most respectful way possible, so why should we call the God who created the heavens and the earth any differently? Anyone who claims that there is no need to use God's name correctly is not a God-fearing person. Therefore, faithful believers who hope for heaven and fear God should realize that their Savior's name is Joshua (יהושע) and give prayer, praise, and glory to that name.
