Chapter 15 What is idolatry?
manager 21-09-25 23:34 3,324 hit

When God gave the Ten Commandments, the second commandment was not to worship idols. To this, the Prophet Job testified as follows.

[Job 31:26~28] I have never openly or secretly worshiped the sun or moon. Such horrible sins would have deserved punishment from God.

Biblical evidence shows that idolatry is a felony punishable by death. In Israel, 3,000 people died while worshiping the golden calf idol in the wilderness, and 850 idolaters were killed in Elijah's time. So, what do idols in the Bible mean?

[Deuteronomy 4:15~20] When God spoke to you from the fire, he was invisible. So be careful not to commit the sin of worshiping idols. Don't make idols to be worshiped, whether they are shaped like men, women, animals, birds, reptiles, or fish. And when you see the sun or moon or stars, don't be tempted to bow down and worship them. The LORD put them there for all the other nations to worship But you are the LORD's people, because he led you through fiery trials and rescued you from Egypt.

The idols in the Bible come in various shapes such as men and women, and the heavenly bodies such as the sun, moon, and stars, and all other idols, are worshiped by Gentiles who do not know God. Then what about the cross and the statue of Mary? Most church members would have prayed or worshiped in front of a cross or statue of Mary. But biblically speaking, it is an idol. So, why fall into idolatry? Because we do not know who God is or where He is. According to the Bible, the dwelling place of God is the temple.

[Habakkuk 2:20] Let all the world be silentthe LORD is present in his holy temple

Therefore, if we do not realize where God's temple is, we will worship other gods, which is called idolatry. The temple of this age is not a building, but the saints who have received the Holy Spirit. Therefore, if you go to a temple built as a building and believe in God, you become idolatrous.

Today, Protestants call the brick building the temple of God. It is said that the things inside are called holy things, and the extension of the building is said to have built the temple. Upon entering the building, a wooden cross hangs in front of it, and a pastor who claims to be a prophet of God compels him to make a large donation from the pulpit.

So, is he a prophet of God? Those who do not know where the temple of God is is not a prophet of God. He is a man-destroying idolater. The temple of God is not a building, but the saints who have received the Holy Spirit. God does not dwell in man-made buildings, but He dwells in the human body He created.

[Acts 17:24~25] This God made the world and everything in it. He is Lord of heaven and earth, and he doesn't live in temples built by human hands. He doesn't need help from anyone. He gives life, breath, and everything else to all people.

Idolatry is a felony that leads to death. Anything done outside the temple of God is idolatry. Protestants pray in front of a wooden cross, while Catholics pray to Mary, erected in the image of a woman. So, what about the Church of God? They worship the creations Ahnsahnghong and Zhang Giljah and teach that the building is the temple of God. Therefore, all that is done outside the temple is idolatry, and the ministers who preach there are wolves coveting the riches of the believers. The temple of God that the Bible testifies is the saints who have received the Holy Spirit. Therefore, all who teach that the building is the temple of God are idolaters.

[1 Corinthians 3:16~17] All of you surely know that you are God's temple and that his Spirit lives in you. Together you are God's holy temple, and God will destroy anyone who destroys his temple
